Where did it all start from?

Anytime that I have ever felt overwhelmed with life or stress to the maximum capacity, I have always been drawn to go sit outside and listen to what surrounds me. Or even to find a trail to just walk and disconnect. Whenever I was able to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature in some capacity, I found I could regroup and see situations from different angles. This wouldn't make the problems completely go away, but it allowed me a moment to breathe. I needed a space where I could put my phone away, close my laptop, and allow my mind some peace.

Sometimes I would even bring paper on these trails, and some of my favorite writings came from sitting in nature. I even wrote my admissions letter for the doctoral program while disconnecting from the business of life and reconnecting with the calmness of nature.

So when I started thinking about a practice name, I immediately began to think about some of the nature trails that I would walk on when I had these moments where I needed to disconnect and reconnect without distractions. I wanted to have a name that would guide the practice. A name where someone would know that they did not have to walk the pathway to healing by themselves. A name where someone would know that they were supported and cared for as they navigated understanding their life and circumstances.

That is how Healing Paths and Wellness first came to be. The name actually came to me during a cabin retreat that I took after busy time. There was minimal WIFI and no television. Just a cabin overlooking a lake, with deer and plenty of birds, a campfire, and numerous trails to walk.

On behalf of all of the clinicians here at Healing Paths and Wellness, we are truly honored to walk with you on your healing journey. It is not just a saying. It is something that each of us feels and embodies.

We are honored to walk these healing paths with you.
